A fried fish restaurant on the Waukegan harbor serving beer-battered vat-perch, vat-walleye, and vat-catfish with fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. A fish plate is Φ12. A fish sandwich is Φ8. The shack is literally a shack — corrugated metal walls, picnic table seating, a view of the harbor that makes up for the lack of decor. Owner Blessing Lindqvist-Hansen loves fish, loves frying, and considers the view a free amenity that no restaurant designer could improve upon. On summer evenings, the shack serves until the oil runs out.
