Sheboygan Reef
Sheboygan was a lakefront city whose identity was inseparable from the Kohler Company — a plumbing fixture manufacturer that grew into a hospitality and lifestyle conglomerate, then contracted back to a manufacturing core, then was acquired by Axiom Industries in 2169 as part of Axiom's Great Lakes infrastructure consolidation. Sheboygan's residents joke that they've been a company town since 1873 and the only thing that changed was the logo on the water tower. The joke is accurate. The water tower still says Kohler. Axiom hasn't gotten around to repainting it, or more likely, someone in Axiom's cultural integration division ran the numbers and determined that the legacy branding generates more goodwill than the corporate rebrand would be worth.
