A double-barreled derringer-format pistol chambered in .410/.45 Colt, capable of firing either shotshells or pistol rounds from its two over-under barrels. The Aegis provides maximum close-range versatility in a package small enough to conceal in an ankle holster — one barrel loaded with a .410 buckshot shell for close-range spread, one with a .45 Colt round for aimed fire. The operator selects which barrel fires first via a barrel-select switch on the frame.

Ouroboros designed the Aegis for people who want a backup weapon that can handle the two most common self-defense scenarios: an attacker at arm's reach (buckshot) and an attacker at room distance (pistol round). The double-barrel design means only two shots before reloading, but the combination of spread and precision in a pocket-sized package has made the Aegis the most popular backup weapon in GLMZ among security professionals and civilians alike.
