Vespid Dynamics Hive Projector HP-6 'Swarmkeeper'
A support weapon that launches salvos of micro-drones carrying explosive charges. Each salvo releases 12 autonomous micro-drones that use swarm intelligence to pursue designated targets around corners, through windows, and into enclosed spaces that conventional projectiles cannot reach.

Vespid Dynamics built the Swarmkeeper to solve the problem of entrenched defenders in complex urban environments. Rather than firing directly at a target, the HP-6 operator launches drone salvos that navigate independently to their targets, using shared sensor data to coordinate approach vectors and overwhelm point-defense systems.

Each micro-drone carries a 5-gram shaped charge capable of penetrating light armor or producing lethal fragmentation. Individually, they are a nuisance. As a synchronized salvo of 12, they are devastating — striking from multiple angles simultaneously with shaped charges that focus their energy inward toward a convergence point.

  • Autonomous multi-vector target pursuit
  • Synchronized shaped charge convergence
specificationscaliber: N/A — micro-drone launch system
effective_range: 20-400 meters (drone range from launch point)
rate_of_fire: 1 salvo of 12 drones per 6 seconds
capacity: 5 salvos (60 micro-drones)
weight: 9.4 kg launcher, 6.2 kg drone magazine
power_source: Drones: self-powered, 90-second flight time per drone
tactical useThe Swarmkeeper eliminates the concept of hard cover. Targets behind walls, inside rooms, or around corners are reachable by micro-drones that navigate around obstacles. Operators use the HP-6 to flush entrenched defenders from positions that would require explosive breaching with conventional weapons. The psychological effect of hearing incoming micro-drones is significant — the distinctive high-pitched whine announces that something is coming that cannot be stopped by hiding.
cultural contextVespid's drone weapons have earned them the nickname 'the hive' in GLMZ's military community. The Swarmkeeper embodies the company's philosophy that individual lethality matters less than coordinated system behavior. Among defenders, the HP-6 has created a new category of combat stress — the knowledge that walls and cover are no longer protection, that something small and persistent can find you anywhere.

story hooks
  • A Swarmkeeper salvo was intercepted by an unknown electronic countermeasure that turned all 12 drones around and sent them back to the operator's position. Vespid is trying to determine how their encrypted control protocols were compromised.
  • Micro-drones from an HP-6 salvo have been found in a residential area — armed but unexploded, their 90-second flight time expired before reaching their target. Children are finding them and treating them as toys.

physical description
visual profileA sleek, angular launcher resembling a hybrid between a grenade launcher and a sci-fi carbine. Its silhouette is dominated by a boxy magazine assembly beneath the barrel, with a pronounced upper receiver housing the targeting/control systems. The overall impression is predatory and modular — designed for rapid deployment and magazine swaps.
dimensionsLauncher: 78 cm length, 12 cm width, 16 cm height. Magazine: 22 cm length, 11 cm width, 8 cm depth. Barrel section: 24 cm.
weight descriptionHefty but balanced. The launcher alone (9.4 kg) requires confident two-handed control, while the detachable drone magazine (6.2 kg) is compact and quick-swap friendly. Feels purpose-built rather than awkward.
primary materialTitanium-reinforced polymer frame with segmented steel barrel assembly. Magazine housing is reinforced composite with visible internal lattice structure to reduce weight while maintaining drone stabilization.
finishMatte gunmetal gray with brushed steel accents around the magazine release and barrel collar. Light wear and micro-scratches consistent with field use. Small heat-discoloration marks near the barrel tip from drone launch thermal bloom.
color schemeMatte gunmetal gray (primary), brushed steel accents (magazine collar, trigger guard, barrel ring), with thin accent lines in electric blue along the upper receiver housing. Vespid Dynamics branding in metallic silver.
grip textureRubberized polymer with deep-cut geometric patterns for secure gloved handling. The stock area features wrapped tactical cord for sling mounting. Magazine grip points are aggressively textured to prevent fumbling during rapid reloads.
distinctive features
  • Modular drone magazine with visible indicator lights (green/amber/red) showing remaining drone count and charge status
  • Upper receiver bristles with four targeting sensors (forward, left, right arrays) for drone guidance synchronization
  • Distinctive barrel crown features six micro-apertures for drone separation trajectory control
  • Integrated targeting crosshair etched into the upper receiver mounting plate
  • Magazine release lever shaped like a stylized wasp — Vespid's signature detail
  • Vented heat sink fins along the barrel exterior, glowing faintly amber during active drone link
  • Wrist-mounted fiber-optic cable attachment points for swarm telemetry feedback
manufacturer markingsLarge 'VESPID DYNAMICS' stamp on the left side of the upper receiver. Serial plate mounted on the right side of the magazine well. Smaller 'HP-6 SWARMKEEPER' designation engraved below the barrel. Regulatory stamps and military restriction logos are laser-etched in tiny text along the trigger guard.
condition typicalWell-maintained field unit. Polymer shows strategic battle-wear on edges and corners. Magazine contact points are slightly scuffed from quick swaps. Heat marks around the barrel from repeated drone launches indicate regular use. No major damage — operators who lose Swarmkeepers don't survive to report it.
image promptA Vespid Dynamics Hive Projector HP-6 'Swarmkeeper' launcher photographed in profile on a matte black composite surface. Dramatic side-lighting casts hard shadows, emphasizing the angular titanium-polymer frame and modular magazine assembly. The matte gunmetal finish catches light along the brushed steel barrel collar and upper receiver sensor array. The detached drone magazine sits beside the launcher, its internal lattice structure faintly visible. The indicator lights on the magazine glow soft amber against dark surroundings. A black-gloved operator's hand grips the rubberized stock, showing the textured grip patterns. Futuristic targeting crosshairs are subtly illuminated. Neo-noir urban aesthetic with clean industrial photography lighting, cool color temperature. --ar 3:2 --v 6
