A directed energy weapon that ionizes a path through the air and then discharges a high-voltage current along the ionized channel — essentially creating a guided lightning bolt. The PC-9 fires a UV laser pulse that strips electrons from air molecules along its path, creating a conductive plasma channel. A fraction of a second later, the weapon discharges its capacitor bank through this channel, delivering a 50,000-volt electrical arc to the target.

Tessera developed the Stormcaller for anti-electronics warfare — the electrical discharge overloads and destroys circuit boards, power systems, and electronic components. Against personnel, the effect is equivalent to a lightning strike. Against vehicles, the discharge can fry every electronic system simultaneously, turning a functioning machine into an inert metal shell.

The weapon produces a distinctive crack-boom signature — the UV laser pulse followed by the thunderclap of electrical discharge. In GLMZ's enclosed spaces, the sound is physically painful and the flash can cause temporary blindness.
