The Rapier is a long-barreled, semi-automatic-only SMG chambered in 5.7mm caseless with a target-grade barrel and precision sights. It trades rate of fire for accuracy, eschewing automatic capability entirely in favor of placing each shot with surgical precision.

The weapon's ergonomics are inspired by competitive target pistols — a precisely angled grip, adjustable palm shelf, and match trigger set at 1.2 kilograms. The BCI integration provides wind-and-distance compensation that makes the Rapier effective at distances that would be optimistic for conventional SMGs. At 200 meters, a skilled Rapier operator can place shots in a 3-centimeter group.

Volkov-Saito prices the Rapier at Φ6,000 and sells it to operators who view combat as a discipline rather than a desperate scramble. The weapon demands skill — without automatic fire to compensate for misses, every shot must count. This appeals to a certain type of operator and horrifies everyone else.
