Unlike rifles with detachable suppressors, the Whisper's barrel is permanently enclosed in a suppression shroud that bleeds propellant gases through a series of expansion chambers along the barrel's full length. Combined with subsonic 6.5mm ammunition, the weapon produces less noise than a closing car door.
