Sunday School weapons have proliferated in GLMZ's religious communities where faith and survival intersect. The weapons exploit a cultural reluctance to search religious items at checkpoints and social gatherings, turning devotional objects into a delivery system for violence. The practice is controversial within the communities that produce it — some see it as sacrilege, others as the ultimate expression of a faith tested by circumstance.
