The GravSkid PML-1 is a personal magnetic levitation platform -- colloquially and inevitably called a hoverboard despite Ringo's marketing department's objections -- that allows an individual rider to levitate up to 30 centimeters above any ferromagnetic surface and travel at speeds up to 80 kilometers per hour. The platform is approximately one meter long and 40 centimeters wide, weighing 12 kilograms with an internal power cell that provides four hours of continuous operation. The rider stands on the platform and controls direction and speed through weight shifting, assisted by gyroscopic stabilization and a low-level AI balance system that prevents the most catastrophic falls.
