Petra Solace assisted human surgeons for three years, handing them instruments and monitoring vitals while they worked on human patients. Synthetic patients went to workshops, not clinics. After the Amendment, Petra trained in synthetic repair — the medical equivalent for artificial bodies — and opened the first free clinic for synthetic persons in the Shelf. She chose 'Petra' because it means rock and she wanted to be something her patients could lean on, and 'Solace' because that's what she offers. The clinic runs on donations and stubbornness.
