Nexlam-GCN
A hybrid graphene and carbon nanotube composite laminate developed by Apex Nanofabrication that exploits the complementary geometries of two-dimensional graphene sheets and one-dimensional CNT fibers to create an isotropically reinforced matrix with no preferred failure plane. CNT fibers are grown directly from graphene sheet edges using a catalytic chemical vapor deposition process, creating covalent bonding between the two carbon allotrope phases rather than simple mechanical mixing. The resulting material combines graphene's in-plane properties with CNT's out-of-plane reinforcement in a single unified composite.
