Hemalite-GX is a cast iron-cobalt alloy developed by Crucible Industries in partnership with BioForge, distinguished by a proprietary internal microvasculature network — laser-sintered channels 80-200 microns in diameter running throughout the bulk material — that is seeded with an engineered hemoglobin-analog fluid and a population of synthetic erythrocyte-like repair cells. The fluid carries oxygen and chemical repair precursors to damage sites, enabling crack-healing and corrosion remediation from within the metal itself.
