Replaces the fingernails with retractable claws housed in modified nail beds. In retracted position, the claws lie flat and appear as slightly thick, curved fingernails. When deployed through a flexion trigger in the fingertips, they extend 2–3 cm beyond the fingertip — curved, sharp, and strong enough to score wood, leather, and light metal. The claws are keratinous like fingernails but significantly denser, with a self-sharpening growth pattern that maintains the edge. They're not weapons capable of penetrating body armor, but in close combat they're effective slashing tools. The modification is popular in the Gray Zone as a discreet self-defense option that requires no equipment and can't be confiscated. Combined with cat ears and a tail, the claws complete a feline body modification suite that a significant portion of GLMZ's population has adopted.
