Elongates and reshapes the human ear pinna into a pointed, elfin configuration — taller, narrower, and tapering to a point. Unlike the cat ear modification which replaces the entire ear structure, elf ears extend the existing human ear shape upward and to a point. The modification is purely cosmetic — it provides no functional hearing enhancement. The ears range from subtly pointed (barely noticeable) to dramatically elongated (15–20 cm tip-to-lobe). The cartilage is living and flexible, moving slightly with facial expressions. Elf ears have been fashionable in GLMZ for decades, cycling through periods of being mainstream and periods of being retro. Currently, they're considered classically elegant — the little black dress of cosmetic geneware. Combined with other cosmetic modifications, they contribute to the deliberately non-human aesthetic that many GLMZ residents cultivate.
