The Cutters Guild is GLMZ's most organized cyberware theft and redistribution network — a criminal organization that steals augmentations from the augmented and sells them to those who can't afford legitimate installation. The Guild employs approximately 200 people: the 'cutters' themselves (surgeons of varying skill who extract augmentations from victims or willing sellers), 'strippers' (technicians who wipe identifying firmware and refurbish stolen hardware), 'fitters' (surgeons who install refurbished augmentations in new clients), and the support network of scouts, drivers, warehouse operators, and security that keeps the operation running.
The Guild occupies a moral gray zone that GLMZ specializes in. Their victims — people jumped in alleys and stripped of their augmentations — suffer genuine trauma, often permanent injury. But their clients — Shelf residents who can't afford Tier-3 prices for augmentations that are increasingly necessary for employment — get access to technology that would otherwise be forever out of reach.
