The PDR does not encrypt in the conventional sense — it dissociates. Outgoing transmissions are shredded into micro-packets and distributed across dozens of simultaneous frequencies, protocols, and mesh relay nodes with randomized timing offsets. The receiving end, running complementary TESSERA firmware, reassembles them. To any intercepting system, the transmission looks like background noise across multiple unrelated channels.

The rig itself is a matte-black unit roughly the size of a hardback novel, with a fold-out antenna array and a physical interface port for direct-connect operations. Its processing core runs TESSERA's proprietary SCATTER architecture — a dynamic algorithm that continuously adjusts dissociation parameters based on the local signal environment, making the pattern of the transmission itself unpredictable even if an adversary has characterized the method. The rig can operate in passive mode, protecting the user's own transmissions, or in active mode, where it projects dissociation interference across a local area, degrading the coherence of nearby communications it does not control.

The PDR is the standard hacking rig for TESSERA's own field operatives and is sold at significant markup to corporate security firms and licensed government intelligence units.
