Worn as a suit, it amplifies the operator's physical output by a factor of twelve through a network of hydraulic actuators and strain-anticipation servos, allowing a single worker to lift, carry, and place loads that would otherwise require heavy machinery. The rig's steel-composite frame distributes weight across a broad base plate system, preventing the ground sinkage common in soft rubble terrain. Palladian designed the Mule for efficiency, not elegance — it is loud, heavy, and visually imposing in a way that reflects its purpose entirely.

The Mule's Strain Anticipation System is its most technically sophisticated feature — a suite of force sensors and a predictive algorithm that reads the operator's movement intent from micro-muscle activations and pre-loads the actuators before the full movement is initiated. This eliminates the half-second lag common in older exo-rigs and gives experienced operators the sensation of the suit moving with them rather than after them.
