Composed in 2209 by Linh Oduya-Sørensen, a neural-feed composer who works exclusively in the space between audio and direct BCI transmission, 'Signal Through the Bone (I Found You)' is the defining love song of the BCI generation — a work specifically designed to be experienced differently depending on whether the listener has a neural interface or not. In standard audio form, it is a gorgeous, aching piece of chamber music: cello, prepared piano, and a synthesized approximation of the sound the human nervous system makes when touched. In its neural-feed version, available only to those with BCI implants, it transmits a secondary layer — not quite emotion, not quite memory, but a felt sense of being found, of someone locating you in the dark of your own skull. Oduya-Sørensen described it in an interview as 'the feeling of someone saying your name correctly, but from inside your own head.'

The song was written after Oduya-Sørensen's own long-distance relationship with a synthetic person — a Class IV social synthetic named Avar — was legally complicated by GLMZ's Personhood Threshold statutes, which do not extend full relationship recognition to synthetic persons below Class VI. The song never names Avar directly but the lyrics are addressed to someone the singer cannot legally claim, cannot publicly mourn losing, and cannot stop loving. The line 'I know your signal / I know it through the bone / they built the walls between us / but they couldn't block the tone' has been interpreted as both a love lyric and a civil rights statement, and synthetic-person advocacy groups have adopted it as something close to an anthem.
