The first thing people ask about cybernetic augmentation is what it's like to be stronger, faster, or smarter. The question they should be asking is what it's like to touch someone with a hand that is not made of flesh but feels like it is.

SNT neural bridging provides full tactile sensation in cybernetic limbs. A chrome hand can feel the warmth of another person's skin. It can distinguish silk from cotton. It can feel a pulse. For the person being touched, the experience is different — synthetic skin over a titanium-alloy frame has a texture that is almost but not quite organic. Slightly too smooth. 'Full bridge' — two people with BCI implants sharing a neural link during intimacy. SNT bonded the BCI to their brains. The BCI allows them to feel what the other person feels. This is the most intimate experience available to human beings and it is only possible because SNT made brain-computer interfaces seamless enough to transmit raw sensation.

People who have experienced full bridge describe it as the end of loneliness. People who have experienced it and then lost access to it (through partner separation, BCI malfunction, or SNT degradation) describe it as the beginning of a loneliness that nothing else can touch.
