The structure occupies the roof of a decommissioned water treatment facility on the Michigan lakeshore, approximately 40 kilometers north of the GLMZ perimeter. It is a parabolic dish, 3 meters in diameter, constructed of a smooth ceramic material that is cool to the touch regardless of ambient temperature. It is oriented upward at an angle of 73 degrees from horizontal, pointing at a section of sky that contains no known satellite, station, or signal source. It records nothing. It transmits nothing. Every instrument we have placed in its focal point has registered silence.

The facility was decommissioned in 2089. Satellite imagery from 2074 shows the dish already present on the roof. The facility was constructed in 2031. Aerial survey photographs from 2029, taken during the site preparation phase, show the dish on the ground at the location where the facility would later be built. The dish predates the building it sits on. It was there first. The building was constructed around and beneath it.

The dish is not the anomaly. The anomaly is what happens to people who stand near it. In the eighteen months since our survey team identified the structure, fourteen personnel have spent time within its 10-meter radius. All fourteen report the same experience: a feeling of being listened to. Not watched — listened to. Not by a person, not by a machine, but by the structure itself. The feeling is described as profoundly calming. Two team members who suffer from anxiety disorders report that their symptoms vanished entirely while in proximity to the dish and did not return for several days afterward. One team member, who asked not to be identified, spent four hours sitting at the base of the dish and described it as "the first time in my life I felt like something was paying attention to me without wanting anything."

We cannot explain this. There is no acoustic, electromagnetic, or chemical mechanism that accounts for a subjective experience of being heard. And yet the experience is consistent, reproducible, and — by every account — therapeutic. I am filing this under anomalous phenomena. I am also requesting permission to go back.
