On day seventy-one, the team asked Elias Venn a question about quantum chromodynamics — a subject entirely outside his fictional expertise as a retired schoolteacher. He answered it correctly, in detail, citing papers that exist and that no member of the research team had read. The project was suspended. The model was archived.
