Corponation security forces are the most heavily augmented population in the GLMZ. Standard issue for frontline personnel includes:
— Enhanced optics (zoom, thermal, low-light)
— Reinforced skeletal frame (titanium-composite bone lacing)
— Combat BCI (tactical overlay, squad communication, threat identification)
— Subdermal armor plating (chest, back, forearms)

All bonded with SNT. All integrated into the soldier's body. All owned by the corponation.

When a soldier's term of service ends, they face a choice that is not really a choice. The corponation-issued cyberware remains corponation property. The soldier can:

OPTION A: Return the hardware. This means surgical removal of all corponation-issued implants. The SNT is destroyed. The soldier experiences phantom chrome syndrome for months or years. They return to civilian life in a body that feels amputated in four places.

OPTION B: Purchase the hardware. At market rates. A standard infantry augmentation package has a replacement value of approximately Φ4 million. The corponation offers a 'veteran's discount' of 30%. The soldier still owes Φ2.8 million. Most soldiers cannot pay this. Most soldiers sign the financing agreement. Most soldiers spend the next 20 years paying for the body they used to do the corponation's fighting.

OPTION C: Re-enlist. Keep the chrome. Keep serving.

The corponation prefers Option C. They designed the incentive structure to produce Option C. A soldier whose body has been rebuilt for combat is a soldier who cannot easily return to civilian life. The SNT bonded the chrome to their flesh. The chrome bonded them to the corponation.

This is not conscription. It is something quieter and more permanent. It is a body designed to need the institution that built it.
