Hello, young citizen! Today we're going to learn about Quanta — the money that makes our world work. You probably already know that Quanta is how we pay for things. When your parents buy food, when you ride the transit pod to school, when the atmospheric processors keep our air clean and fresh — all of this works because of Quanta. But have you ever wondered WHERE Quanta comes from? Let's find out!

Quanta is made by very special machines called Entanglement Distribution Nodes, or EDN nodes. There are 8.4 million of these machines all around the world! They use something called quantum physics — the science of very, very small things — to create money that is impossible to fake. When you pay for something with Quanta, the EDN nodes check that your money is real by using the laws of the universe itself. Isn't that amazing? Not even the smartest criminal in the world can trick the laws of physics! That's why Quanta is the safest money ever invented. The people at Sterling-Nakamura — the company that built the Quanta system — worked very hard to make sure that your money is always safe and always real.

Every person in GLMZ receives something called Universal Basic Compute, or UBC. This is Φ120 every month that goes into your family's wallet, and when you turn 16, you'll get your very own UBC! The UBC is there to make sure that everyone — no matter what — has enough Quanta to live. It pays for the important things: air processing, food, a place to live. The QFIC — that's the Quanta Financial Infrastructure Consortium, the group that takes care of the Quanta system — works hard to make sure that UBC reaches every person, every month, without fail. Remember: Quanta takes care of you, and someday, when you grow up and get a job, you'll take care of the Quanta system by being a hard worker and a good citizen!

Now, you might have noticed the symbol Φ on things around the city. That's the Quanta symbol! When you see Φ1.5, that means "one and a half Quanta." When you see Φ0.50, that means "half a Quanta." And when you see Φ0.001, that means "one milliQuanta" — that's a thousandth of a Quanta, a very tiny amount that pays for very small things, like one second of a neural-feed show or a single scan at a security checkpoint. Everything has a price in Quanta, and your BCI keeps track of it all for you, so you don't have to worry about remembering every little purchase. The Quanta system is your friend. It keeps track of your money so you can focus on learning, playing, and growing up to be the best citizen you can be!
