A Listening Party is an event where people gather to hear music through speakers. This sounds unremarkable until you remember that most residents of GLMZ haven't heard music through speakers since childhood. Neural audio, delivered through BCIs, is the standard. It's objectively superior in every measurable way: higher fidelity, perfect spatial positioning, no ambient interference, personalized frequency response calibrated to the listener's individual auditory neurology. BCI audio is, by every technical metric, better than speaker-delivered sound. The Listening Parties exist because "better" is not the same as "real."

The venues are improvised. Warehouses, abandoned maintenance bays, the interior of a decommissioned water treatment facility that acoustically resembles a cathedral. The sound systems are cobbled together from salvaged components: vintage amplifiers, hand-wound speaker drivers, crossover networks designed by enthusiasts who treat audio engineering the way medieval monks treated manuscript illumination — as a devotional practice that admits no shortcuts.
