During a mandatory structural survey of Shelf Block 22, building inspector Tomoko Abara-Singh discovered a room that does not appear on any architectural plan, is not consistent with the building's structural load-bearing design, and based on its position relative to adjacent rooms, occupies space that is already occupied by other rooms. The room, located on the seventh floor of a residential tower, is accessible through a door in a hallway that three previous inspections documented as a blank wall.

The room is approximately 4 meters by 6 meters, with a 3-meter ceiling. It is empty except for a single metal chair bolted to the floor at the room's center. The walls are smooth concrete — not the prefab composite panels used throughout the rest of the building, but poured concrete of a type and quality consistent with the original GLMZ foundation construction of the 2080s, despite the building being constructed in 2142. The room has no windows, no ventilation ducts, no electrical connections, and no plumbing. It has one door — the door through which it was entered.

Measurements taken from inside the room and from adjacent rooms confirm the spatial impossibility. The room occupies the same physical space as portions of apartments 7-14 and 7-15. The walls of those apartments are intact, undisturbed, and show no indication of a hidden room on their opposite side. Ultrasonic structural scanning from apartment 7-14 shows solid wall where the room should be. Scanning from inside the room shows solid wall where apartment 7-14 should be. Both readings cannot be correct.

Inspector Abara-Singh revisited the building four days after her initial discovery. The door was gone. The hallway wall was blank, exactly as documented in the three previous inspections. Ultrasonic scanning detected no void behind the wall. Her photographs and measurements from the initial visit remain on file and have not been tampered with — verified by three independent digital forensics reviews.

The Building Standards Commission has classified the incident as "instrument error combined with documentation anomaly." Inspector Abara-Singh has filed a formal objection to this classification. She has been advised to take personal leave.
