The only evidence is the pallor. Each victim is found with skin that is unnaturally, impossibly white — not the pale of death, which is merely an absence of blood flow, but a luminous, porcelain white that extends to the deepest dermal layers. The instantaneous BCI cessation is consistent with an external intelligence severing the connection between the interface and the brain.

**The Anomaly Hypothesis:** Something that current science cannot explain. A phenomenon outside the investigative framework's capacity to analyze. This hypothesis is not popular, but it is the one that keeps investigators awake at night, because it means they are not dealing with a solvable crime but with something entirely new.
