The MuteSpeak captures the neuromuscular signals that precede audible speech — the micro-contractions of the tongue, soft palate, and laryngeal musculature that occur a fraction of a second before sound is produced — and converts them into a clear digital voice signal transmitted via short-range Bluetooth-equivalent mesh to paired devices, earpieces, or contacts. No sound is produced at the lips. The implant uses a shallow-mount flexible sensor ribbon sutured beneath the jaw and a secondary node at the thyroid cartilage, both connected to a subcutaneous signal processor no larger than a thumbnail seated behind the ear. Voice profiles are personalized during a two-week calibration period, during which the user speaks normally to train the system's phoneme-mapping algorithm. After calibration, transmission fidelity reaches roughly 96% accuracy for the user's native language and up to 88% for learned secondary languages.
