His face is deeply lined around the eyes and mouth from decades of late nights and genuine laughter, dark brown skin pocked with the small silvery scars of an old electrical accident he considers formative. His hair is cut close except for a strip of white that runs from his left temple to the back of his skull — natural, not dyed, arrived when he was thirty-two and which he refused to touch. He wears functional clothes exclusively: work boots, cargo trousers, a rotating selection of worn linen shirts. Audiences don't dance to Arc Fredriksen-Valenzuela's sets so much as dissolve into them. He has turned down three Axiom-sponsored residencies and one Ringo content contract, a fact he mentions rarely but accurately.
