The HW-1 is a four-legged walking weapons platform standing 4.5 meters tall and weighing twelve metric tons. It is, in the simplest terms, a tank that walks. The primary armament is a turret-mounted 40mm autocannon with 400 rounds of mixed ammunition, supplemented by coaxial machine guns and a dorsal-mounted missile pod carrying four anti-vehicle guided missiles. The legs provide mobility across terrain that would stop tracked vehicles — rubble fields, stairways wide enough to accommodate the 3-meter stride, and slopes up to 45 degrees.

Arcturus designed the Goliath for urban warfare scenarios where conventional armored vehicles are channeled into predictable routes by narrow streets and barricades. The walking chassis allows the HW-1 to step over barricades, climb rubble piles, and navigate through building interiors if doorways are widened — which the 40mm autocannon can accomplish in seconds. The fire control system integrates with Arcturus's command network for coordinated operations with infantry and aerial assets.

The Goliath's presence on a battlefield is definitive. There is no infantry weapon in common use that can penetrate its composite armor. There is no cover in a standard urban environment that its autocannon cannot destroy. Its arrival at a conflict typically ends the conflict — either through direct engagement or through the immediate surrender of anyone who understands what they're looking at.
