The RE-2 is the size of a large beetle — small enough to be swallowed, inhaled, or introduced through an ear canal while a target sleeps. Its chassis is coated in bio-compatible material that prevents immune response, and its six micro-legs allow it to navigate the interior of a human body, crawling through the esophagus, nasal passages, or auditory canal to reach internal organs or — most commonly — to position itself near the BCI implant at the base of the skull.

Once positioned, the RE-2 can perform several functions: it can tap into BCI signals and transmit them externally (surveillance), it can deliver micro-doses of pharmaceutical agents directly to neural tissue (chemical manipulation), it can physically sever connections between the BCI and the nervous system (sabotage), or it can simply detonate a micro-charge smaller than a grain of rice (assassination). The target never knows the unit is there. Symptoms of RE-2 presence — headaches, tinnitus, mood changes — are identical to common BCI malfunction symptoms and are routinely dismissed.

Ringo officially manufactures the RE-2 as a 'BCI diagnostic micro-platform' — a device designed to be introduced into a patient's body to perform internal diagnostics on neural implants. This is a real medical application that exists and is used legitimately. The gap between 'diagnostic' and 'weaponized' is a firmware update.
