Its chassis is covered in a synthetic skin indistinguishable from human tissue at a distance of more than two meters. It can cry. It can call for help. It can sit in a darkened alley, in a damaged building, or at the edge of a disaster zone and produce the sounds and postures of a terrified, lost child with absolute conviction. People come running.

The RB-3 is a lure. It is deployed in advance of military or security operations to draw targets out of defensible positions. The synthetic skin uses a proprietary polymer that only Ringo produces. The voice synthesis module matches patents filed by Ringo's consumer robotics division. The RB-3 has changed behavior in conflict zones and disaster areas. First responders now hesitate before approaching unaccompanied children. This hesitation has cost real children their lives.
