Its primary function is area denial through electrocution — the entire body is coated in a high-voltage discharge surface that delivers an incapacitating shock to anything it contacts. The Rattlesnake patrols a designated perimeter, and anything that crosses the line gets 50,000 volts.

Ringo deploys RR-1 units in agricultural zones as crop protection — the units patrol field perimeters and electrify anything that enters without authorization, from animal pests to human trespassers. The shock is rated as non-lethal for healthy adults, but agricultural workers in disputed zones are frequently not healthy adults — malnourished, augmented with cheap hardware that amplifies electrical discharge, or simply old.
