Designed — if that word applies to something assembled from desperation and ingenuity — for moving fast through the Shelf's sub-infrastructure tunnels. The core piece is a long-sleeved base layer in matte charcoal, cut close to the body and treated with a rubberized coating along the forearms and shoulders for sliding through tight passages without tearing. Over it sits a sleeveless tactical vest, originally a Vantablack surplus piece with the branding sliced off and replaced with hand-stitched patches of various gray and black fabrics. Sixteen pockets of various sizes distribute weight evenly across the torso — some sealed with original magnetic closures still functioning, others sewn shut with fishing line, others left open for fast access. Trousers are skintight reinforced leggings in dark charcoal with articulated knee panels cut from a yoga mat and stitched in — ugly but effective padding. Over the thighs, a pair of salvaged thigh pockets are strapped directly to the legs with nylon webbing. The shoes are flat-soled, thin, and hand-repaired: originally a Patchwork Runner Low, now barely recognizable under layers of rubber adhesive patches and re-lacing with paracord. The face is partially covered by a wrap of dark gray filter cloth — not a proper respirator, but better than breathing raw tunnel air. A salvaged chrome forearm plate from a junked augmentation rig is strapped to the left forearm as a makeshift shield and tool surface, its exposed circuit traces long dead but the alloy still hard.
