Floodline Patched Shelf Tank
Not so much manufactured as assembled — a Shelf-origin tank top built from at least three different source garments, the seams reinforced with whatever thread was available (you can see the color differences if you look). The base is a faded green synthetic jersey, sleeveless, with a wide armhole cut that's been further modified with scissors. Patches cover a tear on the left shoulder (a rectangle of orange hi-vis material), a section of the lower hem (denim, darker blue), and a logo on the chest that's been partially covered by a hand-stitched Floodline crew mark in red thread — a stylized wave over a horizontal line.

Floodline is one of the loose territorial associations in the lower Shelf districts near the old lakefront infrastructure. Wearing their mark isn't casual — you either run with them, owe them, or you're very confident you can handle the conversation that comes with it. The tank itself is worthless. What it represents is not.

story hooks
  • A character finds this shirt on a body — the Floodline mark means someone will come looking, and they'll want to know where it was found.
  • The original garment underneath the patches has a partially visible logo — with effort, it can be read, and the company it belongs to hasn't existed for thirty years.
  • Someone outside Floodline territory is wearing this shirt and clearly doesn't know what it means — a ticking clock situation.

physical description
visual profileA deliberately assembled, patchwork sleeveless tank that reads as street-tier salvage. Wide, loose armholes and a relaxed silhouette give it an intentionally worn, lived-in quality. The visible mismatched seams and color-variant thread work create a distinctly hand-repaired aesthetic — this is a garment held together by necessity and territory affiliation rather than manufacturing standards.
fitRelaxed and oversized through the body, with armholes cut wide enough for unrestricted movement or easy access to gear. The cut suggests it's been modified from its original form — deliberately widened rather than tailored.
primary materialFaded synthetic jersey (base), patched with hi-vis industrial material (orange), salvaged denim (dark blue), all stitched with mismatched thread in various colors including red hand-embroidery.
textureWorn and soft jersey base with visible thread stress; rougher, stiffer patches create tactile contrast. Stitching is visible and irregular — some areas clean, others chunky where multiple passes were needed. Overall texture reads as weathered and deliberately imperfect.
color schemeFaded sage-green jersey as primary. Accent patches in bright safety orange (left shoulder) and darker indigo denim (lower hem). Red hand-stitched wave emblem over the chest area. Visible thread colors include tan, orange, red, and blue creating visual noise across seams.
closuresNone — simple pull-over tank construction, no fasteners.
distinctive features
  • Hand-stitched Floodline crew mark (red wave over horizontal line) deliberately covering or layered over original chest logo
  • Orange hi-vis rectangle patch on left shoulder (covering a tear)
  • Dark denim patch on lower hem (structural repair)
  • Visibly mismatched thread colors throughout all seams — deliberate indicator of multiple repair sessions
  • Wide-cut armholes, scissor-modified edges
  • Original faded branding partially obscured beneath crew mark
tier indicatorTier 5 — sub-grade/ungoverned. This is salvage-tier, self-assembled, bearing territorial crew markers rather than commercial branding.
cultural contextFloodline crew affiliation or indebtedness. Wearing this is a statement of territory claim in the lower Shelf lakefront districts. The garment itself is worthless; its value is entirely social and territorial. Signals street-level, likely ungoverned zone residence, connection to informal economy, and willingness to engage in territorial group dynamics.
condition typicalPerpetually worn and patched. This garment is never pristine — it's actively maintained through visible repairs. The patchwork is intentional, not hidden. Condition worsens over time as new tears prompt new patches, each repair layer adding to the narrative.
image promptA weathered Tier 5 salvage tank top displayed on a dark chrome mannequin or worn by a lean, street-hardened model with visible subcutaneous tech traces. The garment's faded green jersey and mismatched patches are sharply lit to emphasize texture and thread-work detail. Close-up showing the red hand-stitched Floodline wave mark over the chest, orange hi-vis shoulder patch, and irregular seams. Urban lakefront warehouse backdrop, industrial overhead lighting casting hard shadows, neon blue accent light cutting across the orange patch. Moody, desaturated color grading with selective saturation on the patches and red embroidery. Dark, wet concrete and rusted metal visible in background. Neo-noir street-wear aesthetic emphasizing wear, modification, and territorial allegiance. --ar 2:3 --v 6
