It's assembled from a mix of quality street-label and surplus, and it holds together through deliberate choice rather than institutional supply. The outer layer is a surplus-style work jacket in faded navy waxed cotton, hood stuffed into the collar, with chest pockets reinforced by street-sewn bar tacks. Across the left sleeve, someone has stenciled a small orange triangle with a number — a dock lot designation, or a crew mark, or a union section ID. The jacket's back panel has been slit along the spine and re-laced with industrial paracord to create a crude but effective spinal-rig accommodation channel. Underneath is a heavyweight charcoal henley with three-button placket, thick enough to function as a mid-layer without a separate underlayer. Trousers are navy canvas work pants cut wide in the thigh for movement, with external knee pad channels (pads currently in), cargo pockets on both legs, and a reinforced seat. A wide webbing belt with a heavy D-ring carries a hook tool, a clip for a work lamp, and a battered multi-use utility holster.
