A Shelf staple assembled from salvaged textile scraps — panels of faded corporate workwear fabric stitched alongside strips of what was once a West African kente-print garment, a section of silver-gray thermal lining, and a band of heavy denim along one shoulder. No two Caldero tanks are identical because there is no Caldero — it's a street name for the guy on the Tier 1 market stall at the corner of Caldero and 9th who sews these by hand from whatever comes in that week. The stitching is visible, sometimes doubled where the fabric was thin, and the whole thing has a raw hem at the bottom that curls slightly after washing.

Worn close to the body, it breathes better than it looks. Shelf kids wear these under everything, or alone in summer, and the layered construction means there's always a pocket sewn somewhere unexpected — inside the kente panel, under the denim patch. It's not fashionable in any conventional sense, but on the Shelf it reads as resourceful, and resourceful is respected.
