Threadline Co. is a small independent label operating out of a storefront in the Tier 2 manufacturing district, making garments from deadstock and reclaimed fabric. The Denim Chore Coat is their signature piece — a boxy, hip-length work jacket in 12-oz selvedge denim, with four front pockets, a clean collar, and a single-button closure at the throat. The denim is raw and stiff when new, fading and softening over months of wear into something personal. Threadline offers it in indigo (standard), black-washed, and a natural undyed ecru that takes dye and grime alike.

This jacket has significant underground cachet. It is recognizable to people who know it and invisible to people who do not, which is part of the appeal. Artists, musicians, fabricators, and Tier 2-to-3 crossover types wear it. It gets pins, hand-stitched patches, and paint on it.
