A shapeless pull-over poncho in heavy-duty recycled polyurethane, available in grey, olive, and a faded rust-orange. It covers from the crown of the head to mid-thigh, has a single drawstring hood, and two slash pockets that are more or less watertight. The seams are heat-welded rather than sewn. It folds into its own small pouch. On the Shelf, where covered transit is patchy and the lakefront weather comes in fast, this is a survival item as much as a garment.

These are manufactured by several competing Shelf-adjacent micro-operations, all producing nearly identical product at the lowest possible price point. Some are stamped with brand names — Greycoast, Dura-Lo, Westpont Basics — that may or may not represent actual ongoing companies. Quality varies. The orange ones are slightly better-made than the others, according to a persistent Shelf rumor that may or may not have any basis in fact.
