The TFW-2 is a dual-barrel cassette system for the TFP-6 'Garrote' torsional filament projector, containing 8 magnetically tipped anchor nodes connected by monofilament wire in a precisely coiled deployment package. Each cassette provides a single deployment — 4 anchor nodes from each barrel — that creates a web of high-tension monofilament across a 3-18 meter span. The anchor nodes magnetically attach to ferrous surfaces and the filament auto-tensions between them, creating an invisible barrier that lacerates anything that contacts it.

The monofilament wire is the cassette's active component — a carbon nanotube composite strand approximately 0.02mm in diameter, invisible to the naked eye under most lighting conditions and strong enough to maintain structural integrity under 400kg of tensile load. Under the torsional stress applied by the anchor nodes' rotary mechanisms, the filament develops a cutting edge that will sever soft tissue, light clothing, and thin metal on contact. The filament remains under tension for approximately 90 seconds before the anchor nodes' torsion springs exhaust, at which point the web goes slack and becomes merely a tripping hazard.

Reloading the TFP-6 requires replacing both cassettes — a process that takes approximately 45 seconds of careful handling, as the monofilament in a fresh cassette is under pre-tension that can lacerate the operator's hands if the cassette is mishandled. Experienced operators wear cut-resistant gloves during reload, and field reports document multiple hand injuries from improper cassette handling.
